A New Day in American Politics

History was made this past November when Senator Barack Obama was elected by both popular and electoral college votes as the forty-fourth president of the United States. Running off of the campaign rallying cry, "Yes We Can!", Senator - now President - Obama instilled a sense of hope across the nation, promising a new way of running government. Now another sign that this is going to come to pass has turned up. President Obama left Robert Gates in at the post of Secretary of Defense from the Bush cabinet, and now he is considering another Republican, New Hampshire Senator Judd Gregg, as the Secretary of Commerce. I must admit I was at first skeptical of all of the promises that President Obama was making as he campaigned across this country, but it seems that, as of so far, he is really going to strive to bring about a change in America. I pray that he continues to stay focused on the issues and resolving them for the good of the American people instead of letting politics get in the way.

Confusion

Have you ever had one of those situations where you're hopeful for something and you're torn between potentially false hopes and the reality of your life?

God?

I have a class this semester that explores the link between science and faith. Is there a Higher Power? If so, what is the nature of this Power? Omniscience? Omnipotence? Did this Being set everything in motion, sit back, and let things take their course? Or is this Being more of a personal Being, this Supreme Power that we more commonly know as God? I beg you, take a look at the little things around you and ask yourself, How could this have come about without some Supernatural Influence? Dig deep into your souls and ask yourself about your view on God; do you believe? Or do you know? "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life..."
